Yet another H&M collaboration collection will hit stores on October 4th. This time, the fast fashion empire teamed up with the inimitable Anna Dello Russo (she's got such great initials going for her - ADR - it seems you really need good initials to be in the business), editor-at-large for Nippon Vogue. I've never really understood what editors-at-large do (wikipedia tells me they basically get a free reign over their content etc), but it seems ADR does it rather well, since she's practically a household name even among the non-fashion-inclined.
I say she's inimitable because even though she's crafted an entire line of accessories that are very much distinct to her sense of fashion and style - no one will ever even come close to the heights of over the top extravagance that she's achieved. Doesn't matter how many accessories you pile on or feathered adornments you pin to your head - ADR's excess is well in excess of anyone else's.
I'm particularly in love with her saying that
Nothing succeeds like excess!
Though I prefer to apply it to dinner tables instead of the top of my head.
Everything in the collection is ornamental and completely over the top. I'm curious to see if the pieces feel just as good as they look - nothing cheapens things like a lack of substance. Mark your calendars and break out your sleeping bags! You know you're in for a long night to get your hands on this collection of covetable items!
