Hello world! It's monday, I know it's not a fun day, but sometimes a little bit of unpleasantness is needed for us to truly appreciate Thirsty Thursdays, or TGI Fridays or the wonder that is the weekend. I know, this is too much optimism and bright and shiny for you to take, especially since you're probably in the office clearing emails or attending endless rounds of meetings...
There is no point to this post, I didn't start it with an agenda, I sort of sat down and wanted to write about one of the many amazing things that happened over the last week (visit to the Bellabox offices, a maddeningly wonderful birthday celebration at Catalunya, a Mediterranean dinner party with friends, an inside look into Robe Raiders....) and I just couldn't decide which I wanted to write about first. So here I am, writing rubbish. Such a #firstworldproblem.
Speaking of #firstworldproblem(s) - did you happen to catch the Haitians reading #FirstWorldProblem(s) off twitter ad created by DDB? It's incredibly powerful stuff, poignant and biting, it gets straight to the heart of the issue and is a reminder for all of us that there's so much more that can be done in this world. Whether we actively participate to make it better, or donate to a cause, making things better (in our own way) is something we all need to do.
I love the tumblr-famous image above as it captures the ideal morning ritual for folks around the world (I would attribute it to someone but I honestly have no idea who first created the poster), but I thought I'd add in the last bit as a reminder to myself that the end goal is never about the money, it's about what we do with it to make things better for ourselves, for the people we love, and the wider world around us.
You should probably watch the video before you complain about the fact that you can't clear that inbox before the end of today (totally guilty of this!)
